Acupuncture is Effective for Anxiety

Anxiety disorders, including panic disorders, phobias, social anxiety disorders, separation anxiety disorders, and the most commonly diagnosed, generalized anxiety disorders (GAD) are often diagnoses given to patients that we see in our clinics as Chinese Medicine practitioners. These disorders often manifest with the symptoms of persistent and lingering feelings of fear and despair, and are accompanied by a fast heart-rate, feelings of tension, pain, and a marked sense of unease. Many patients are especially willing to accept acupuncture for anxiety due to its safety. Some side effects of acupuncture include bruising, minor bleeding at the insertion site, uncomfortable feelings from needle insertion or manipulation, and feeling faint.
